Our Story

A Village Home,
Not a Care Home

Prospect House sits on Low Street in Swinefleet, directly opposite St. Margaret's Church. Sarah and David Slack have run this family home for over a decade, building a team who treat every resident the way they would treat their own parents.

With 26 beds and a team who know every resident by name, this is care on a human scale. No corporate protocols. No rotating agency staff. Just a family partnership that believes your mum or dad deserves to feel at home.

“It should be your home.”

That is not a tagline. Residents bring their own furniture, their photographs, their favourite chair. The room they move into becomes theirs, not a room number on a corridor.

What We Offer

Care Built Around Your Family

We know this is one of the hardest decisions you will make. Every care package we create starts with listening to you and your loved one.

Residential Care

Long-term 24-hour care in a home that feels like home. Bring your furniture, your photographs, the things that matter. Our team provides first-class support while respecting your independence and dignity.

Dementia Care

Specialist support for those living with Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and confusion-related conditions. Our experienced team understands that patience, routine, and genuine warmth make all the difference. We work closely with families to understand the person behind the diagnosis.

Respite & Short Stays

Whether you need a break as a carer or want your loved one to try life at Prospect House before making a permanent decision, our respite stays give everyone breathing space. Many of our long-term residents started with a short stay.

Day Care

A welcoming environment for older people who benefit from company, activities, and a change of scenery during the day. Meals included. A chance to socialise, stay engaged, and give family carers some time to themselves.

Daily Life

This Is What
Home Looks Like

Life at Prospect House follows its own gentle rhythm. There are no bells, no tannoy announcements, no institutional routines. Breakfast is when you want it. Your armchair is where you left it. The staff already know how you take your tea.

On arrival, the team make every effort to settle new residents in with genuine care and consideration. They understand the transition can be an emotional time, and they are patient with it.

The Chatterbox

When the Doors Closed,
We Built a Window

In 2020, when COVID-19 shut care home doors across the country, families everywhere were cut off from the people they loved most. At Prospect House, that was not something Sarah and the team were willing to accept.

They invested in building a heated garden pod, which the residents named "The Chatterbox." It meant families could sit face to face with their loved ones, safely separated but never truly apart. CQC specifically commended this innovation.

They also reached out to the village of Swinefleet, asking neighbours to send letters and drawings to residents during lockdown. The community responded beautifully.

The Chatterbox still stands in the garden today. It is a reminder of what this home is about: when something threatens the wellbeing of its residents, Prospect House finds a way.

Absolutely. Our philosophy is "it should be your home." We actively encourage residents to bring their own furniture, photographs, and personal items to make their room feel familiar and comfortable. The more it feels like yours, the better.
